STEVEN SPIELBERG

Picture
This is going to be a short research about the life and legacy of Steven Spielberg, not only  to know him better but also to understand what, how and why he has changed the cinema industry and how he has influenced our lives.

Although, the main purpose of this project is to know more about this important person of the 20th and 21st centuries, there are some more interesting  objectives involved with this activity:
  • learn to research
  • prioritize and select information,
  • get used to using different types of sources
  • organise the information obtained in order to be useful to the initial goals
  • present the information in an appropriate form to be understood

STEP ONE:
WATCH THE DOCUMENTARY VIDEO ABOUT HIS LIFE WHILE TAKING NOTES (individual)

Watch the videos while taking notes about the most relevant aspects of his life and work. This is not going to be the only source of information but it´s one of the most attractive since it is visual and he is the one who gives us his own point of view.

You must take notes to collect information about the following aspects:
  • Essential and if possible relevant biographical aspects (When, where....was he born...? first educational influences...)
  • First important cinematographic experiences. Were they important for his future career?
  • How are imagination, creativity, hard work are aspects that have contributed to develop his career?
  • Personal projects or projects for others...?
  • Have his films contributed to change our lives in some way?
  • Is cinema an art that helps the human being to become better ?

STEP TWO:
READ THE BIOGRAPHICAL TEXT AND VISIT THE WEB ABOUT HIS LIFE WHILE TAKING NOTES (individual)

Read the handout carefully about his biography and take notes about the most important and relevant facts and events that affected his life and that contributed to create his character. Watch the trailers of the most important films to value his contribution to our lives.
  • Which were his personal skills or values that allowed him to pursue his dreams?
  • What were the circumstances that facilitated him to become what he became?
  • What are his most significant films? Why?
  • Which ones are your favourite?
  • Has he changed the world ? How?
  • What is his legacy?

STEP THREE:
CREATE A POWER POINT POSTER FOLLOWING THE MODEL GIVEN
 (group work)

This is the final step in which the previous work is reflected in a visual way, it must include all the relevant information that we have collected during the previous steps.

At the end we will upload all the projects created by the groups.
